Medical appointment support that helps you get there safely
Feel supported and on time, without the stress of doing it alone.
We provide in-home and on-the-day support for older people, people with disability, and anyone needing extra help - from getting ready and travelling to appointments to practical support during and after the visit.

What is medical appointment support, and how does DANS do it differently?
Medical appointment support provides practical assistance to help people attend important health appointments safely, reliably and without unnecessary stress.
In regional communities, simply getting to an appointment is often one of the biggest challenges. Many towns across the Central West and Western NSW have limited or no public transport options, no taxis and few alternatives for people unable to drive or travel independently. At the same time, specialist appointments, hospital visits and treatments are often located in larger regional centres, requiring travel outside the local area.
At DANS, we help bridge this gap. Whether it's a lift to a GP in town, the drive to a specialist in a larger centre, or a hand getting through a hospital visit, we get clients where they need to be and home again safely.
Safe and reliable transport, to and from appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Questions about in home care, funding, and getting started? We've answered the ones we hear most.
Do you help with transport and appointments?
Yes. DANS provides transport and accompaniment to medical appointments, pharmacy visits, shopping and social outings. In Central West and Western NSW towns where taxis and public transport are limited, this is one of our most used services.
What is medical appointment support?
Medical appointment support is door-to-door help getting to and from health appointments: transport, help getting ready, and a care worker who can stay with you during the visit and relay information back to family if you want.
Can DANS help with pharmacy visits and errands?
Yes. DANS helps with pharmacy visits, shopping, banking and social outings as well as medical appointments. These trips keep you independent and connected, and they are often combined with another scheduled visit.
Is appointment support useful in towns with limited transport?
Yes. In many of the towns we service, taxis are scarce and specialist appointments can mean travelling to Dubbo or Orange. Appointment support means distance does not decide whether you get to the doctor.
If I need clinical support in my medical appointments can I book a Registered Nurse to accompany me?
Yes. Often it is very useful to have a registered nurse attend a medical appointment to support you in your clinical needs and follow up and continuity of clinical care.
