iCare NSW care at home in Central West & Western NSW
iCare NSW (Insurance and Care NSW) is the NSW Government agency that funds treatment and care for people injured at work, in a motor vehicle accident, or affected by work-related dust disease. It pays for the support you need to recover, stay safe, and live as independently as possible - including care delivered at home.
At a glance

Could iCare-funded care be right for you?
If you're living with an injury or illness covered by an iCare NSW scheme and need help with daily life at home, iCare may fund the care you need. The support available depends on your scheme, your injury and your approved care plan.
Need help in the meantime?
We can provide private care while your claim or care approval is being finalised.
How much does iCare cost?
Care that iCare has approved is paid for by iCare directly to your provider.
- Approved services in your care plan have nothing to pay out of pocket.
- New services must be approved by iCare or your claims contact before they start.
- Anything outside your plan can be arranged privately.
How is support approved?
iCare, or your insurer, looks at several factors when approving care at home.
Your scheme and claim
You need an accepted claim, or approved participation in a scheme such as Lifetime Care, Workers Care, CTP Care, Dust Diseases Care or Workers Insurance.
Your injury or illness
The care needs to relate to your injury or illness and how it affects mobility, personal care or daily living.
Your care plan and goals
The care you receive at home needs to match your approved care plan, treatment goals and assessed needs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Questions about in-home care, funding, and getting started? We've answered the ones we hear most.
Can DANS provide support through iCare NSW?
Yes. DANS provides in-home care for eligible clients with approved iCare NSW funding - typically people recovering from or living with an injury covered by a NSW workers compensation or lifetime care scheme. Services follow the approved care plan and can include personal care, nursing and daily living support.
What support can iCare funding cover?
iCare funding can cover services that support recovery, independence and safe daily living at home - for example attendant care, personal care, domestic assistance, nursing and transport - as set out in the approved plan.
Can DANS work with my case manager or support team?
Yes. DANS works with iCare case managers, coordinators, treating health professionals and families to deliver care exactly as the plan requires, with reporting to match. Contact us and we can coordinate directly with your case manager.
