Inhome Nursing Home Care

HomeInhome Nursing Home Care

D.A.N.S. can come into a nursing home environment and provide additional care needed by your loved one.

We work with nursing home staff to provide additional, specialised care. We know that staff work very hard in the nursing home environment, however they are stretched to provide individualised care for every resident. D.A.N.S. can be a great asset to assist them to provide additional one-on-one care.

We have been asked across the years by family members to enter nursing homes to provide specific care for their loved one. We care for people living in their home, including nursing homes.

Family with enduring guardianship can request out services. We are able to assist with a number of different services including but not limited to:

Are you working and/or juggling a family and other responsibilities? Are you finding it hard to keep up with and accompany your loved one with all the clinical appointments needed for their care?

D.A.N.S. clinical nursing staff can accompany your loved one to all medical appointments as well as follow up with you and the suitable services to keep your loved one in good health.

We can also liaise with nursing home staff to make sure that everyone is aware of the clinical requirements needed by your loved one, to keep them safe, happy and in their best health.

D.A.N.S. currently provides this service for clients across the Central West, NSW. We have a very productive relationship with residential facilities. We transport clients to medical appointments. We assist with following up all requirements and liaising with the residential facility and family members on the finalisation of all appointments.

We know that you need to take a break and go on holidays, however the thought of someone not visiting your loved one in residential care is sometimes what stops you.

D.A.N.S. can step in and treat your family member as one of our own. We can visit and make sure that they receive the one-on-one care that they receive when you are in town and able to visit. We want to continue to build on the positive impact your visits have on your loved one.

We understand that moving into a residential facility can be a very big transition for elderly people, and with this comes a grieving process. Loss of independence, loss of personal routine and loss of their community can mean that they need greater care during this process.

There are many circumstances where Dubbo Area Nursing Service can assist your loved one, including:

  • Assistance with social outings (one-on-one care) like:
    • A weekly outing to help with their state of mind (walk, church or watch a game of sport)
    • A family occasion to allow your loved one to be a part of life events such as family weddings, graduations and achievements.

There are other circumstances that we are able to assist people within a nursing home environment. These include:

Assistance with settling into a nursing home. D.A.N.S. can oversee elders clinical care and wellbeing as they transition into a residential facility. Very few look forward to moving into care, therefore it is normal for a loved one to experience major loss. The constant of a caregiver that has been in their previous home can help as they can continue to visit them in a nursing home environment.

Unfortunately Nursing Homes are too understaffed to provide one-on-one care. This means that extra care is needed for end of life care. It can be very reassuring to have a very experienced and caring caregiver come into the nursing home environment to tend to end of life needs. All under the clinical direction of the community palliative team and D.A.N.S. clinical nurses.

D.A.N.S. have caregivers who are specifically trained in end of life care. They work under the direction of the local palliative team, who D.A.N.S. have a very close relationship with.

Thank you from the bottom of our heart for the daily support, care and friendship that Central West Nursing provided to my father.Remaining in his own home allowed him to live life and fulfil his interests with dignity. We are indeed fortunate to have such a wonderful support service available.

Client's Family

The Central West Nursing staff are excellent, friendly and always on time. My carer (who is the same every time) is conscientious, and has a desire to do her job properly and with pride.
