Answers to common questions about switching providers
Will my care plan and hours carry over?
Your funding carries over. One of our Care Partners completes your care plan at the commencement of service. Most clients keep the same hours when switching over.
My provider has already closed. What now?
Call us today. Provider closures are treated as priority transfers. We can usually put interim support in place while the package transfer is completed.
How long does a switch take?
Most transfers are completed within your current provider's notice period, usually two weeks. If your provider has already closed or waives notice, we can often start sooner.
Will there be a gap in care?
No. We schedule your DANS team to start on the date that works for you, so there is no gap in your care.
Do I need to call my current provider to make the switch?
No. Once you decide to switch, we prepare and send the required notice on your behalf.
Does my Support at Home funding move with me?
Yes. Your classification and budget carry across to DANS when you move to us.
Do I need qualifications to apply?
No. Many of our best people started with no care experience. You can earn while you complete a Certificate III with our learn-and-earn pathway, and registered nurses support you on the job.
Easier to talk it through?
You'll reach a Central West local, not a call centre.
Ready to switch without the stress?
Call now and talk to a local person about taking over your care - or start the switch online and we will call you back within one business day.
No obligation. No competitor gossip. Just a clear answer on whether we can take over your care.
