Answers to common questions
How does switching work?
If your current provider is not the right fit, you can switch. We handle the handover and help move your funding to DANS so your care continues without a gap.
Can I decide what my funding covers?
Your funding is yours to direct. We build the plan with you, show you where every dollar goes and adjust services as your needs change. Funding is usually allocated for set services, so we help you define the services that fit your needs.
What should I expect from an assessment?
An assessor visits to understand your needs and assign your funding classification. We can help you prepare and support you before, during and after the assessment.
What does Support at Home cover?
Support at Home can cover services ranging from domestic help to nursing care, including:
- Domestic assistance, meals and transport
- Personal care and medication support
- Nursing support and allied health
- Respite for family carers
- Social support and community access
Do I need qualifications to apply?
No. Many of our best people started with no care experience. You can earn while you complete a Certificate III with our learn-and-earn pathway, and registered nurses support you on the job.
Easier to talk it through?
You'll reach a Central West local, not a call centre.
Not happy with your current provider? You're allowed to switch.
