Common questions about getting fast access to care
Are your team locals?
Yes. DANS is based in Central West NSW. Our phone number is a local 02 number, so you speak with someone who knows the area, not a call centre.
Will I get a roster for support services?
Yes. We create an agreed roster and share it by text, phone, email or through the DANS In Home Care app. You can also use the app to view visits and request changes on behalf of a loved one.
What would services cost me?
There are no hidden fees or charges. Download our private fee schedule PDF for current hourly rates.
What is your availability for home visits?
DANS provides services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, from early morning through to overnight care.
What services do you provide?
We provide a range of services. Not all support needs a registered nurse.
Clinical needs, such as medication, wound care and catheter care, are handled by our registered nurses. Our wider care team can help with:
- Personal care, including showering and medication assistance
- Domestic help, including cleaning and laundry
- Transport, shopping and meal preparation
- Respite and end-of-life support
- Gardening and home maintenance
We also have relationships with local allied health professionals and can help you find occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and GPs.
What is involved in getting immediate care underway?
It starts with an assessment. Our team looks at the situation, the care needs and how a care plan can be put in place quickly. Our staff are local to Central West NSW, so an in-person visit can happen fast.
How quickly can services be in place?
We can move quickly, usually putting support services in place within days. Our team is large enough to support you or your loved one quickly, while still small enough to provide personal care.
Do I need qualifications to apply?
No. Many of our best people started with no care experience. You can earn while you complete a Certificate III with our learn-and-earn pathway, and registered nurses support you on the job.
Easier to talk it through?
You'll reach a Central West local, not a call centre.
